About Austin
Austin is the Founder of Omnipsi Consulting. He was the President of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2019 - 2021) and the Chair of the Division of Industrial Organisational Psychology of the Hong Kong Psychological Society (2019 - 2021). He is a Chartered Psychologist, an Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and Hong Kong Psychological Society, and a Registered Psychologist with the Singapore Psychological Society. He is a member of the Division of Occupational Psychology of the British Psychological Society. He is a Chartered Scientist with the Science Council UK, a member of the International Association on Workplace Bullying and Harassment and the Association for Contextual Behavioural Science. He is a founding member of the European Mentoring and Coaching Council (EMCC) Asia Pac and a Professional Member of the Hong Kong Institute of Human Resources Management.
He is an ACT practitioner and has an interest in workplace bullying. His PhD focused on helping bullied individuals to deal with residual psychological impacts by improving their psychological flexibility. He has contributed articles to print and online media on psychometric assessments, talent retention, and outplacement. He is a blogger and a podcaster.
Professional Experience
Austin has over 20 years of working experience across various specialisations including C-Level executive assessments, executive coaching, career management and outplacement, volume psychological assessment, training, project management, sales and marketing, business development and operations. Before becoming a Psychologist, Austin held various senior sales and business development positions in Singapore and Hong Kong in the Security, Construction and Food & Beverage industries.
Austin combines his knowledge of psychology and business understanding to help organisations identify and develop talents. He has worked with organisations and individual executives across the Pharmaceutical, Oil and Gas, Insurance, Manufacturing, Retail, FMCG, Telecommunications, Finance, Legal and Media industries. He has also worked with various international NGOs.
Qualifications
Austin has a Bachelors in Psychology with Socio-Legal Studies, a Masters in International and Commercial Law, a Postgraduate Diploma in Law and a Masters in Psychology of Work. He has a PhD in Organizational Psychology focusing on using Acceptance Commitment Therapy as a coping strategy for workplace bullying.
He holds both Level A & Level B Certificate of Competence in Occupational Testing from the British Psychological Society, a European Test User Certificate (Level 2): Work and Organisational Assessment and a Registered Practitioner with the Psychological Testing Center of the British Psychological Society. He is also certified in SHL, Saville Wave, Talent Q, 15PF, Identity, Apollo, Hogan and Cubiks suite of psychometric tools. He is also trained in Acceptance Commitment Therapy. He is also a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) credentialed by the International Coach Federation.
